I hope everyone enjoyed their Family Day Weekend! We had Charlotte's 2nd birthday party on the weekend (a week early) so family could join us. The house was full and it was a wonderful weekend. Sadly, Charlotte didn't really get to attend her birthday party and instead spent most of it in Emergency. Her finger got caught in a door in all the excitement and we were concerned. Luckily, nothing was broken and we just have to wait for the nail to fall off (eew). Her Daddy is amazing though and ended up hosting the entire party while his Mom and I were with Charlotte. He had just bought a new espresso machine, so that was the adult entertainment. The kids had Wii Dance to keep them occupied. We got back in time to enjoy birthday cupcakes and open presents. She was so happy to see everyone that the pain subsided a bit I think. Having her Grandma, Baba, a couple Aunts and her cousin there to welcome her home made it so special.
Everyone cleared out on Sunday and Monday and we spent the afternoon with friends sledding on snow (and grass) followed by tasty burgers and milkshakes (and naps). The house is clean (moderately) and all are happy. When we lived up north, we had occasional visitors, but never a houseful. I can't get over how wonderful it is to have a steady stream of visitors. Whether family or friends, the love that fills the house is one of the greatest feelings. I can't believe how much my spirits were lifted having guests. Yes, the quiet after all leave is nice, but only for a short while. I am already missing everyone and I can't wait for the next adventure! Perhaps every weekend should be a party?
I hope to see many of you next Sunday! Please come by and say Hi!
PS Here's what my hubby has been practicing for the past week...love this man! We have a major coffee addiction in this house and love the great selection of freshly roasted and super tasty beans available in Calgary!!
